What are the benefits of Noni supplement?

  • Traditional uses
Polynesian healers have used noni fruit for thousands of years for the relief of many symptoms and conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, pain, burns, arthritis, inflammation, the effects of aging, and parasitic, viral and bacterial diseases. Ancient manuscripts d cite the fruit as a main ingredient in various natural healing formulations. Today, preparations from the fruit are marketed as juice or as a dried extract in capsules.

  • It is rich in antioxidants
Noni contains a variety of antioxidants such as anthocyanins, beta-carotene, catechins and flavonoids. Foods that provide antioxidants help reduce the effects caused by oxidative stress, according to the National Institutes of Health.

  • May alleviate pain associated with tumours
In particular, the anti-cancer properties of anthraquinones, such as ucidin, alizarin and rubiadin, make noni a superfruit of interest in this area.
Anthraquinones, which are naturally occurring phenolic compounds, have been found to prevent glucose from entering tumour cells, preventing metastasis and ultimately leading to cell death. This, in turn, is helpful in slowing the growth and multiplication of cancer cells.

  • Fights inflammation and boosts immunity
Research in the Journal of Natural Products has shown that fermented noni fruit juice contains a novel fatty acid, a novel ascorbic acid derivative and a novel iridoid glycoside, an important metabolite, along with 13 other compounds.
The study showed benefits in detoxification and in reducing inflammation due to noni consumption.
These qualities may help reduce the effects of arthritis, according to research studies.
In addition, the amino acids contained in noni may help boost the immune system. Noni contains 17 amino acids including serine, arginine and methionine.

  • May help reduce cholesterol and blood pressure
Noni benefits the cardiovascular system by decreasing inflammation in the body. There is also evidence that it can help lower high blood pressure. It has been shown to support the maintenance of normal blood pressure due to its antioxidant activity and positive effects on inflammation.
This fruit is associated with improved exercise tolerance and endurance, while decreasing joint pain and fatigue, according to a 2018 study.

  • May protect against parasitic diseases
Thanks to its rich intake of phenolic and aromatic compounds it contains, drinking noni juice may help prevent parasitic diseases such as leishmaniasis, which most often occurs in tropical areas and southern Europe.
