Kelp is a brown seaweed that belongs to the Laminaria family. These algae are found in the oceans at a fairly shallow depth (between 5 and 40 meters), precisely so that sunlight can reach them, at a temperature between 5 and 20 degrees Celsius. In general, they form underwater forests and have a fast growth rate (between 10 and 60 centimeters per day).
