Arjuna Bark is rich in saponins, natural antioxidants (flavonoids-arjunone, arjunolone, leteilin) gallic acid, ellagic acid, oligomeric proanthocyanidins, phytosterols, minerals such as calcium, magnesium, zinc, and copper. It also contains triterpine glycosides, such as arjunetozide I, II, III, IV, arjunin, and arjunetein. Arjuna Bark is anti-ischemic, anti-atherosclerotic, cardiac protective and cardiotonic, diuretic, hypocholesterolemic, hypolipidemic, antioxidant, aphrodisiac, anti-mutagen, astringent.
